A traditional seaside holiday cottage more than 150 years old, Elie Cottage has recently been renovated and extended to an exceptionally high standard to offer a relaxing luxury getaway for families and friends. Perfect for a Fife self catering holiday, the cottage is set just yards back from the award-winning beach with no need to cross any roads.

The contemporary open plan living area opens fully onto the warm and sunny private back garden which is protected from the evening chill off the sea. Right by the beach but sheltered from the evening chill from the sea

Unlike a lot of holiday cottages in Fife that are close to the sea the Elie Cottage garden is south facing and enjoys all day sun long into the evening. There is a wonderful terrace fully open off the sun lounge where guests can sit on warm summer evenings, perfect for barbecuing and alfresco entertaining. Whilst there are lots of Elie holiday homes available to rent, luxury beach cottages are harder to find because very few are completely rebuilt or renovated to such as high standard, and no new build is allowed in the conservation area.

A brief history of ‘Belcote’ Elie Cottage and the ‘Royal Burgh of Elie & Earlsferry’

Belcote Cottage was originally built in the 1850s in the area called Liberty that nestled between Earlsferry and Elie. Most people think of Elie as just one village when it is actually four dating back to the mid 13th Century.

Cottage Layout

Accommodation for 8 -10 over 2 floors. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a second snug lounge with double sofa bed. Two doubles, two twins (one with an extra pull out bed) and a double sofa bed. Children’s cot also available. Downstairs bathroom with bath + shower. Upstairs bathroom with walk in shower.

Entertainment (lots)

The open plan lounge has a cosy wood burning stove, a digital television, DVD, stereo system, and numerous classic board games. The smaller snug lounge has a gas fire, TV and stereo. BBQ, chimenea, croquet and ping pong table are stored in the detached garage along with lots of other garden and beach games, including badminton and a quality steel beach petanque set.

Parking

Off street parking to the rear for security, easy packing and unpacking.

Kitchen

Gas cooker with electric fan oven, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave.

Utility room

Washing machine, iron and ironing board. Drying room ideal for drying sports equipment, clothing and towels etc. quickly.

Ground floor

The ground floor contains the large open plan sun lounge and dining kitchen, spacious entrance hall, utility room, main bathroom, snug lounge and one of the double bedrooms.

First floor

The first floor contains the master double bedroom with views to the beach, the two twin bedrooms and the second bathroom.
